Thomas Tuchel unsure if Mauro Icardi will start for depleted PSG against Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain head trainer Thomas Tuchel is uncertain if Mauro Icardi is healthy enough to begin in Wednesday’s Champions League clash.
Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani, who had expected to be appropriate for the game at the Parc des Princes, has been ruled out while Brazilian Neymar is suspended injured together with France ahead Kylian Mbappe.
Icardi, who combined PSG on a season-long loan from Inter Milan earlier this month, might begin up front but Tuchel is uncertain about his condition as the Argentine only played an hour up to now this season, coming on as a substitute in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Strasbourg.
“I don’t know precisely how healthy he is,” Tuchel explained. “I really don’t understand how long he can perform, perhaps he should start or maybe Eric Choupo-Moting can begin. Everybody knows we overlook a few strikers but that I trust the players that I have for this match .”
The champions go back by Manchester United in the round of 16 final season to the stage for the first time since their elimination.
Tuchel was eager to play down the importance of the trip of 13-time European winners Real.
“This game will not decide everything. I would like people to play our game, harshly and play to win,” Tuchel said.
“We’ve put last season behind us and we are looking ahead. We’ve made adjustments, you will find new players and we’ve gained expertise.”
Club Brugge host Galatasaray from the other Group A match on Wednesday.
