Sean Longstaff injured, Andy Carroll close to Newcastle return, says Steve Bruce


Although Andy Carroll is near a yield for Newcastle sean Longstaff has long suffered an injury in training, says head coach Steve Bruce.
After recovering from a knee injury which kept him from the final stages of the campaign longstaff has played.
The 21-year-old attracted interest from Manchester United during the summer after his performances in his breakthrough season, but Bruce confirmed he’s been sidelined because of an injury in training.
Bruce explained:”Regrettably, Sean Longstaff turned an arm in practice. Tomorrow he won’t make.
“He tried to block a cross and sadly twisted his ankle and we will not understand how severe that’s until another few days. That’s a tiny blow for us.
“It’s one of those freak ones which sadly happens. We had been disappointed which we have lost a player. That’s what happens in soccer unfortunately.”
Newcastle started the season with beats against Arsenal and Norwich, but awakened to pick up a shock win at Tottenham thanks to the objective of Joelinton.
The striker has not faced much competition for his spot in the side nevertheless he is contested by Andy Carroll, who’s nearing a return later he had been re-signed about Deadline Day.
Bruce stated:”[Carroll has] made big progress this week. He’s thrilled with how it’s gone so far. It’s fantastic news to us.

Newcastle face a trip to Premier League leaders Liverpool on Saturday because they look like the first team to collect points from Jurgen Klopp’s side this season, also Bruce admits it will be a really challenging challenge.
He added:”We’re likely to European champions who have not lost a match in the home for two and a half years.
“They’re as good a group as you’re going to play so we’ll have to guard well that’s for certain. But we need to take part and show that strength such as we did against Spurs.
“When we’ve got it, can we trigger a hazard and that has regarded as the game program straight out again.
