Sean Longstaff has suffered a foot injury in training, although Andy Carroll is near your recurrence for Newcastle, says head coach Steve Bruce.
Longstaff has played after recovering from a knee injury which kept him from the last phases of their effort.
Bruce affirmed he has been sidelined due to an injury in training, although the 21-year-old attracted interest from Manchester United in the summer after his performances during his breakthrough year.
Bruce stated:”Regrettably, Sean Longstaff turned an arm in practice. Tomorrow, he will not make.
“He strove to block a cross and sadly twisted his arm and we won’t know how intense that is till another couple of days. That’s a small blow for us.
“It is one of the freak ones that unfortunately happens. We had been disappointed for him that we have lost a participant to some freak crash. That is what happens in soccer regrettably.”
Newcastle started the season poorly with defeats Arsenal and Norwich, but awakened to pick up a shock win at Tottenham due to Joelinton’s target.
The striker has not faced competition for his place in the side however, however, he could be contested.
Bruce said:”[Carroll has] made enormous progress this past week. He is delighted with how it’s gone so far. It’s fantastic news to us.
“I guess for everyone to watch him associating with training was good for him, good for your group of course and we want now some good news from his specialist.
“It’s always very tough to place timescale on someone like Andy, he’s fit when he’s fit. He’s joined in, he’s worked extremely hard, there is a smile across his face that this afternoon.
“When you have got a ankle like he has got, it’s always the response to the work he’s put in. At the moment it is all very excellent.”
Newcastle face a visit because they seem like the first group to collect points out of the side of Jurgen Klopp that season, and Bruce admits it is going to be a challenge.
He added:”We are going to European champions who haven’t lost a game at home for two and a half years.
“They are as good a team as you’re going to play against so we are going to have to defend well that’s for certain. But we need to take part in the match such as we did against Spurs, and reveal that endurance.
“When we have got it, can we trigger a threat and that has got to be the game plan straight away again.
“it is a fantastic scene with a excellent support, a major club, big history, large tradition. Perform them and to proceed is for me likely to be among the highlights because they are exceptional in what they have done over the past few years in their history.
“I have always just loved it. It’s imperative that you just enjoy it, that is what were in it for. It could not be anymore difficult because they’re a very, very great team now.”
