For biting newport County defender Ryan Inniss has been given a five-match ban from the FA.
Inniss was sent off in an EFL Trophy match that County lost 5-4 into West Ham U21s on Wednesday and has been charged last week.
The 6ft, on loan from Crystal Palace, has been dismissed late on for the incident which included 18-year-old Hammers left-back Reece Hannam.
An FA statement :”Ryan Inniss has admitted a violation and been immediately suspended because of his next five first-team aggressive matches with the independent Regulatory Commission.
“The normal three-match ban which would normally use was clearly inadequate.”
Speaking immediately after the match, County manager Michael Flynn confessed he couldn’t shield the loanee.
He said:”Their participant said he has humiliated, so I’ll have a look at that and find out exactly what happened.
“If he’s bitten him, it’s inexcusable and that I won’t be fighting his corner.”
The 24-year-old, who has captained Palace’s book side and is on his loan bargain away from Selhurst Park, will miss the matches from Carlisle, Macclesfield, Exeter, Swindon and Northampton of Newport.
